Deacon Randy Duke was assigned to Sacred Heart Catholic Church parish in June 2013. He and his wife Lori have one son, Perrin, who resides in the Hattiesburg area with his wife, Sarah.
Born and raised in New Orleans, Deacon Randy grew up in a large family and has four brothers (one who is his twin) and five sisters.
He has served in the US Army on active duty and in the Reserves for 30 years and has been to many different countries throughout the world. He felt called to the diaconate while on an overseas deployment.
He is involved in RCIA and enjoys visiting and ministering to those who are hospitalized. He thoroughly enjoys participation in baptisms and the other sacraments of the Church.
Deacon Randy appreciates God’s creation in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, bicycling, and gardening. His favorite scripture to reflect upon while outdoors is Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God.
He works in healthcare in Hattiesburg and is very happy to be part of the Catholic community of Sacred Heart and of the greater community of Hattiesburg.
